LAS CRUCES – Seattle U baseball won the series but came up short of the sweep of New Mexico State after falling, 0-9, Sunday afternoon in Las Cruces.
The Aggies held the Redhawks to just five hits in the ballgame, while racking up 18 of their own.
The game was scoreless heading into the third inning. NMSU used the bottom of the frame to plate four runs and did not look back as they scored at least one run in four of the final six innings of the ballgame, getting the win 0-9.
The five hits for the Redhawks were picked up by just three players, as Gavin Rork and Jackson Reed both had multi-hit games and Dylan Gerard added in another.
Getting the start for SU on the mound was Brady Liddle, going three innings while giving up six hits and four earned runs.
Next up for the Redhawks is a one game showdown with Washington State on Tuesday, March 13 at Bannerwood Park. First pitch is set for 4:00 PM between the Redhawks and Cougars.
