SEATTLE – (Sept. 23) Seattle University volleyball opened Western Athletic Conference play with a 25-17, 25-21, 25-21 setback to Utah Valley Saturday afternoon in the Connolly Complex.

Katarina Glavinic led the Redhawks (4-10, 0-1 WAC) with 10 kills and three blocks. Shae Harris dished 23 assists and Tijana Milojevic led three players with double-digit digs, finishing with 16.

Utah Valley’s (6-10, 1-0 WAC) Madison Dennison finished with a match-high 14 kills while Lexi Thompson added 11 kills and 10 digs.

The Wolverines opened up a 16-9 advantage in the first set, forcing a Seattle U timeout. The momentum halted briefly with an attack error by UVU, but the Wolverines would stay in control, earning set point on a block by Thompson and Dennison.

The second set featured four ties and two lead changes before UVU closed out the 25-21 win. Finding themselves down 20-16 late in the third set, the Redhawks rallied to within one, 21-20, on a kill by Glavinic. But would get no closer as Dennison put down her 14th kill of the day for match point.
