Seattle University men’s soccer announces the transfer of David Olsen, who will join the Redhawks and attend school at Seattle U beginning with the 2015 spring quarter.

“We are excited to have David join us,” said head coach Pete Fewing. “He is a clinical finisher with good movement in the final third and he has shown the ability to score goals at all levels. David is coming off a successful freshman season and we will look to integrate him into the team this spring. David is a great addition to the program and we look forward to great things from him at Seattle U.”

The Washington native was trained and competed in the Sounders Academy system from 2011-14, where he helped lead the team to back-to-back league championships in 2013 and 2014. He also previously competed with Crossfire from 2006-10, where the team won four straight state championships as well as a regional championship in 2010. In 2010, Crossfire also finished as a National Championship finalist.

At San Diego State, Olsen was an All-Pac 12 Honorable Mention, also earning Pac-12 Player of the Week honors on Sept. 8, 2014 for scoring the game-winning goal in the Aztecs’ wins over No. 25 Clemson and No. 19 Denver. The same weekend, he was named Most Outstanding Offensive Player of the Courtyard Marriott San Diego Central Aztec Soccer Tournament.

An Auburn, Wash. native, Olsen graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Federal Way, Wash. in 2014.

Olsen joins NLI signees Nathan Aune (Arlington, Wash.), Cody Buchanan (San Jose, Calif.), Sergio Rivas (Albuquerque, N.M.), and Julio Rubio (Goleta, Calif.) who signed NLI’s with the Seattle U men’s soccer team in February.
