DENVER – Declan McGlynn of Seattle University men’s soccer has been chosen Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Offensive Player of the Week, for the period ending Oct. 6. McGlynn scored four goals in SU home wins, including a hat trick on Sunday afternoon.

The sophomore forward collected three goals in Sunday’s 4-1 win over Kansas City on Sunday. He scored in the fourth minute, the 53rd minute, and the 72nd minute to claim just the second hat trick in Division I program history and the first since Nov. 1, 2015 (David Olsen).

On Friday night, McGlynn scored in the Redhawks’ 5-0 win over Houston Baptist.

In 2019, McGlynn, a native of Kirkland, Wash., leads the WAC with 15 points. He’s tied for the league lead in goals with seven, including six in his last four outings. McGlynn has scored in four straight matches. The WAC honor is his second career weekly accolade.

The Redhawks have won four in a row, including their first three WAC contests, entering Friday’s game at UNLV.
