SEATTLE – (Dec. 14) Nathan Aune of Seattle University men’s soccer has been named 2017 United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-American First Team. He is the first Redhawk men’s soccer student-athlete to earn the honor.

“I am very proud of Nathan,” said Coach Pete Fewing. “He is a team captain and he has been a fantastic, model student-athlete. He’s started almost every game since he’s been here, he’s grown academically, and he’s been involved in SAAC. Nathan has set a great example for the rest of our team.”

Aune, a marketing major, has a 3.3 cumulative grade point average in his junior year. Earlier this week, he received United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-West Region recognition.

The Arlington, Wash., native was selected to the United Soccer Coaches All-American Third Team after helping the Redhawks win the WAC Championship and advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Aune has now been named WAC Defensive Player of the Year, All-WAC First Team, WAC All-Tournament Team, United Soccer Coaches All-Region First Team, and United Soccer Coaches All-American Third Team.

Aune is one of 11 student-athletes to be named to the scholar first team.
