SEATTLE (Dec. 3) - Seattle University women’s basketball opens a six-game road trip with a non-conference game at Montana State on Sunday, Dec. 4. Tip-off is slated for 1 p.m. at Worthington Arena.

SU (2-6) is coming off a 60-44 win over Montana on Friday. It outscored the Grizzlies, 22-10, in the third period, pulling away for the home victory. Three Redhawks scored in double figures, led by Wilma Afunugo with 16 points off the bench. The SU defense allowed a season-low 44 points and contained Montana to 26.8 percent field goal shooting, also a season-best number.

Montana State (4-3) defeated Carroll College, 75-44, on Friday. Peyton Ferris scored 15 points to lead four Bobcats in double digits. MSU held Carroll to 25.4 percent shooting from the floor.

Coach Suzy Barcomb’s squad leads the WAC in made three-pointers (57) and ranks second in the league in assists (100), rebounds (294), and three-point field goal defense (28 percent). Senior Kaylee Best paces the conference in scoring (17.3), made field goals (47), and made threes (27).

Montana State tops the Big Sky in scoring defense (58.6), field goal percentage defense (35.3 percent), and blocked shots (26) this season. Ferris is scoring 15.1 points per game, while Hannah Caudill leads the conference in total assists (30).

The all-time series is tied at 4. The Bobcats won the 2015-16 opener at Seattle U. MSU went on to win the Big Sky regular season title.
