SEATTLE (Nov. 28) - Seattle University women’s basketball hosts Loyola Marymount on Tuesday, Nov. 29. The non-conference game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. tip-off at the Connolly Complex.

The Redhawks (1-5) fell, 94-64, to #13 Washington on Saturday. Kaylee Best scored 21 points, while Alexis Montgomery and Claire Metoyer each added 11. SU played right along with the Huskies in the first half, heading into the break down by just five points, before UW standout Kelsey Plum took over. The senior finished with 44 points in the contest.

LMU (2-4) lost to Belmont, 79-72, on Saturday. Jackie Johnson tallied 18 points, 12 rebounds, four blocks, and three steals, while Cheyanne Wallace scored 20 points. The day before, the Lions defeated UC Irvine, 58-39. LMU contained Irvine to three first-quarter points on its way to an easy home victory.

Best leads Seattle U in nine different statistical categories this season, including scoring (18.2) and assists (2.8). The Seattle native has connected on 22 three-pointers through six games, most in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). Montgomery is recording 14.2 points and 5.7 rebounds per game.

For Loyola Marymount, Johnson is posting 15.3 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 2.6 steals per game. Her rebound and steals averages are tops in the West Coast Conference. Wallace is averaging 15.2 points and 6.5 boards a game.

SU leads the all-time series, 3-2, including wins in each of the last three meetings between the programs. Last season, Wilma Afunugo scored 14 points as the Redhawks won, 78-69, at LMU.
