Seattle U women’s basketball is set to make their final regular season road trip, taking a short weekend trip to Utah Valley on Feb. 27. The Redhawks return home to host Bakersfield and honor their senior class before traveling to Las Vegas for the WAC Tournament the second week in March.

Ross Passes 1000 Career Points: Senior Taelor Ross became the 15th player in program history to surpass 1000 career points with a basket with 2:47 left in the contest vs. NM State on Feb. 20. Ross becomes the first Redhawk player to accomplish this feat since Sylvia Shephard on Jan. 4, 2014.

Scouting Utah Valley (14-13, 7-5 WAC): Last weekend, the Wolverines, led in scoring among starters by Mariah Seals (11.0 ppg), swept their road trip at UMKC and Chicago State. Deijah Blanks was named WAC Player of the Week last week (Feb. 15-21) with a perfect night from the floor Feb. 18 at Chicago State, going 10-for-10 from the field and 7-for-7 on free throws en route to 29 points and 10 rebounds. Utah Valley has won four of their last five and are currently tied with UTRGV and Grand Canyon in second place in WAC standings with two weekends left to play.

Bonvicini Earns 700th Career Win: Joan Bonvicini won her 700th career game on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016, a 59-45 win vs. Chicago State in Seattle. With the win, Bonvicini became just the 17th Division I women’s basketball coach, 22nd across all divisions, to reach this historic milestone. She is also currently 10th on the Division I active women’s basketball coaches list by wins.
