Head coach Joan Bonvicini picked up her 694th career win last Friday, one step closer to her milestone 700th career win. The Redhawks travel to Los Angeles for the LMU Thanksgiving Classic this weekend before returning home to host Denver at ShoWare Center on Dec. 3, which is the last planned game away from the newly renovated Connolly Center.

Bonvicini Approaches 700th Career Win: Joan Bonvicini has 694 career wins going into this week and is currently 10th on the wins list for Division I active women’s basketball head coaches. She looks to pick up her 700th career win in 2015-16.

Scouting LMU (1-3): LMU earned their first win of the season most recently, 69-58, vs. Nevada in Oahu at the Hawai’i Rainbow Wahine Classic after dropping their first contest of the tournament to Hawai’i as well as previous close games at Colorado and vs. Cal State Fullerton. Sophie Taylor (16.0 ppg) and Cheyanne Wallace (10.0 ppg) lead the Lions in scoring. The all-time series is tied, 2-2, including a 62-57 Seattle U win most recently on Dec. 6, 2014 in Seattle.

Scouting Princeton (2-1): The Tigers opened the season with a pair of home wins vs. American and Duquesne before dropping a contest at Seton Hall on Nov 19. Three Tigers are averaging in double figures led by Michelle Miller (14.7 ppg), Annie Tarakchian (14.0 ppg), and Alex Wheatley (12.3 ppg). If the Tigers and Redhawks face this weekend in the consolation or championship game, it will be the first all-time meeting between the two.

Scouting UC Irvine (1-2): UC Irvine earned their first win of the season at Southern Utah on Nov. 19, 63-58, dropping their home opener vs. St. John’s (N.Y.) and a road contest at UNLV most recently. Irene Chavez is averaging a team-high 11.3 ppg while Mokun Fajemisin (10.0 ppg) is also averaging in double figures for the Anteaters. UC Irvine leads the all-time series, 2-1, most recently a narrow 61-60 victory in overtime in Seattle on Dec. 1, 2012.

Play4Kay Game: The team’s annual Play4Kay game will be Feb. 20 vs. reigning WAC champions New Mexico State. The team has a goal of raising $2,016 and their donation site is located at www.play4kay.org/suwbb. Stay tuned as the date nears for more details.
