DENVER – (Feb. 5) Alexis Montgomery of Seattle University women’s basketball won Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Player of the Week for the period ending Feb. 4. It is the fourth weekly award of the season for Montgomery.

The senior from Beaverton, Ore., came within a rebound of her first career triple-double and made the game-winning shot at Utah Valley on Saturday. She posted 15 points, a career-high 12 assists, and nine rebounds in the 77-75 win. Montgomery also hit the go-ahead basket with 1.6 seconds remaining, marking the latest game-winning shot in SU’s Division I program history.

Montgomery is the first player to win four WAC weekly honors in a season since Tyonna Outland of CSU Bakersfield in the 2014-15. Montgomery has now claimed six career WAC Player of the Week awards.

On the season, she paces the WAC in nine different statistical categories, including points per game (20.9), rebounds per game (9.7), and free throw percentage (85.7), and double-doubles (11). Montgomery needs 17 points to tie Lisa Hill for seventh on SU's career scoring list with 1,350 points.

Seattle U sports an 11-11 record, including a 5-2 WAC mark. It hosts Kansas City on Thursday at the Connolly Complex. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
