NEW TAIPEI CITY, TAIWAN – (July 24) Seattle University women’s basketball graduate Jacinta Beckley will play for the New Zealand national team in the William Jones Cup this week. Beckley appeared in three friendlies last week in Japan to prepare for the tournament in Taiwan.

The Tall Ferns dropped all three games in Japan, as Beckley started twice. The team traveled to New Taipei City, Taiwan, and will participate in the William Jones Cup. New Zealand faces India at midnight Pacific time tonight to open the event.

Beckley’s squad will also take on South Korea, China, and Japan throughout the week in Taiwan.

Beckley was an All-WAC Second Team choice as a senior at SU. She was second on the team in scoring and three-pointers as the Redhawks won their first-ever WAC Tournament and then played in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history.
