Seattle University women’s basketball head coach Joan Bonvicini announces the signing of transfer Cydnee Ceballos (Phoenix, Ariz.), who will attend school and compete for the Redhawks beginning with the 2014-15 season.

“Cydnee is a terrific addition to our squad,” said Bonvicini. “She is a versatile forward who can step out and hit the jumper or power inside. Her collegiate experience will help her transition and she will contribute to our program immediately.”

Ceballos is a transfer from McCook Community College in McCook, Neb. where she was named to the All-Region team in 2013-14 and recorded a single game high of 31 points and 14 rebounds. Prior to MCC, she attended Lamar Community College in Lamar, Colo. during her freshman season.

A 2012 graduate of Shadow Mountain High School in Phoenix, Ariz., she was a two-year starter and three-year varsity letterwinner for the Matadors. In 2010-11, she helped lead her team to the state championship game and she was named the Most Improved Player. During her senior season, in 2011-12, she was named Team MVP. In club play, Ceballos competed with the Triple Threat Ballers in 2011-12 and, outside of basketball, enjoys swimming.

Ceballos joins incoming freshmen Jazmine Johnson (Lakewood, Calif.), Crystal Allen (Fort Worth, Texas), Ashlyn Lewey (Spokane, Wash.) and Jacinta Beckley (Paraparaumu Beach, New Zealand), who also join the team beginning with the 2014-15 season.
