2016-17: Preseason Second Team All-WAC selection... one of three players to start all 30 games... averaged 20.7 points and 5.2 rebounds in 30.2 minutes per game... scoring average was third on the team while rebounding average was second... shot just over 50 percent from the field and 73.3 percent from the charity stripe... led the team with 110 made free throws... scored in double figures 14 times, had three double-doubles and led the team in scoring three times... poured in a career-high 24 points at Chicago State (Feb. 9)... shot 9-for-13 from the field and 6-for-10 from the free-throw line in the game... also pulled down 10 rebounds for one of his double-doulbes...
2015-2016: Powell started all 32 games for the Redhawks. He averaged 8.9 points and 6.8 rebounds in 29.4 minutes per game. Had a season-high 18 points along with 10 rebounds and two assists at KeyArena. Against UMKC at KeyArena he had 17 points, 12 rebounds and six assists in a 65-55 victory. Averaged a team high 6.8 rebounds per game in his redshirt junior year, while again leading the Redhawks to the CBI where they defeated Idaho.
2014-2015: Powell started all 34 games in his redshirt sophomore season with the Redhawks, playing 28.6 minutes per contest. Scored a season-high 17 points against WAC opponent UMKC, and added six rebounds, two assists and a steal in a victory at KeyArena. Averaging 7.8 points, 6.4 rebounds he helped lead the Redhawks to an appearance in the WAC Tournament Championship game as well as two victories in the CBI over Pepperdine and Colorado.
2013-2014: Powell played in 28 games in his redshirt freshman year. Season-high was 14 points against Evergreen State. He added five rebounds and two assists in the victory for Seattle U. Finished with six points and seven rebounds in WAC Tournament quarterfinal against New Mexico State.
High School: Attended Huntsville High School in Alabama where he averaged 16 points and 10 rebounds per game, earning him multiple all-area honors. Powell then attended the IMG Academy post-graduate team in Bradenton, Fla.
Personal: Powell is from Huntsville, Ala., and has one younger brother (Brandon). His mother (Rose) was a silver medalist in the Olympics, and his father (Harry) played basketball in college. Powell is majoring in Business Management in Albers School of Business and Economics.
