Michael Knight was named to the All-Tournament Team after the Oak Harbor Freight Lines Classic hosted by SPU.

Continuing his solid play off the bench over the past two weeks by averaging 16.0 points per game at last weekend’s Oak Harbor Freight Lines Classic at Seattle Pacific University, senior guard Michael Knight (Seattle, Wash.) was named to the All-Tournament Team.

In last Friday’s game against Alderson-Broaddus, Knight helped extend Seattle’s second-half lead several times, first on a three-point play with 9:28 remaining, then on a three-pointer with 4:41 left, and finally with a free throw to give SeattleU a five-point lead with 1:08 remaining in regulation. Knight finished with 14 points and three rebounds in 22 minutes of action.

The next day, Knight found his stroke, scoring 18 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the field, including 3-of-5 from behind the three-point line, and 3-of-4 shooting from the free throw line. He scored nine points in a 12-2 run midway through the first half, starting with back-to-back three-pointers, and then capping off the run with a dunk to give SeattleU a 31-14 advantage as the Redhawks cruised to the 93-70 victory over Concordia College of New York.

Over the last four games, Knight is averaging 17.3 points per game, shooting 23-of-40 from the field, including 14-of-26 from the three-point line. He is now tied for third on the team in scoring, averaging 9.7 points per game. This is the second consecutive weekend that Knight has earned a spot on an all-tournament team, previously earning the honor at the DeBeni Classic at Humboldt State.

Seattle University (7-2) begins conference play Saturday, Jan. 5, at Montana State Billings beginning at 7 p.m. local time. The team’s next game at the Connolly Center is Thursday, Jan. 10, against Seattle Pacific beginning at 7:30 p.m.
