SEATTLE – (Feb. 7) Riding a three-game win streak and sitting in a tie for third in the Western Athletic Conference standings, Seattle U men’s basketball hits the road for a two-game swing, beginning Thursday, Feb. 8 at Kansas City. Tip off from Mnicipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo., is set for 7 p.m. Central, 5 p.m. Pacific. The Redhawks enter the game with a 16-8 overall record and 5-2 mark in WAC play. The ‘Roos are 6-19 on the year and 1-7 in WAC play. Tabbed the WAC Game of the Week, the match-up will be carried live on ESPN3 and online at watchespn.com. Fans can also tune in to KTTH 770 AM in Seattle or online at mynorthwest.com as Dave Grosby returns for his ninth season on air for the Redhawks.

  • Seattle U has won its five WAC games by a combined 13 points, including a one-point, 55-54 victory over Utah Valley on Feb. 3. On the season, the Redhawks are 5-1 in games decided by five points or less.
  • The Redhawks have won three straight and five of their last six games on their way to a 16-8 overall record. The 16 wins is the most since the Redhawks finished the 2014-15 season with 18 victories (18-16).
  • Aaron Menzies was named WAC Player of the Week for the week of Jan. 29-Feb. 4. The 7-3 center had 15 points, 12 rebounds and a career-high six blocks on the Redhawks’ 55-54 win over Utah Valley on Feb. 3. The numbers marked  his fourth straight game with a double-double and 10th overall on the season.
  • The win over Utah Valley marked the second time this season that the Redhawks won while finishing with fewer rebounds than their opponent. They are 14-3 win winning the battle on the boards, and 2-5 when losing that statistic.
  • n games played through Feb. 5, Seattle U is ranked in the top 50 nationally in four team statistical categories. The Redhawks are 21st in the nation in FT% (776.8), 37th in 3-pters (226), 42nd in 3-pt FGs per game (9.4) and 44th in rebound margin (+5.2).
  • Matej Kavas is 13th in the nation in 3-pt FG% (46.5), 60th in total 3-pters (66) and 55th in 3-pt FGs per game (2.87). Aaron Menzies is 17th in o-boards (3.42 per game) and 29th in double-doubles (10).
