SEATTLE - (Feb. 24) Coming off a 4-3 victory over Whitman last weekend, the Seattle U women's tennis team took a step up in competition Friday night, and were unable to yield the same result as they fell 7-0 to the Air Force Falcons.

Michelle Lui battled Chloe Forlini of Air Force in singles No. 1 as she won the opening set 6-3, but dropped the next two, 0-6, 3-6. Behind Lui and playing in the No. 2 singles position, Madison Maloney fell to the Falcon's TJ Fumaggalli, 6-3, 6-3.

Lui and Maloney performed well in doubles No. 1 despite the game resulting in a Did Not Finish. Barbara Carey and Kali McCollister dropped their doubles matchup by a score of 6-2 as did Kailyn Skjonsby and Caroline Maltby.

Overall, it was a difficult night for SU, but the effort was there from start to finish. Assistant coach Matt Look was proud of the way his team competed against such a formidable opponent.

"No question that it was a tough match today," said Look. "We battled on every court and I'm proud of how hard we play for each other. It just wasn't enough against a very good team today.

We're more determined after a match like this to get back on the court and get ready for our next opportunity."

The Redhawks return to action next Sunday, March 5th, as they take on San Diego Christian College for a neutral site match in Lewiston, Idaho. The match is set for 9:00 a.m.
