WAC RELEASE

DENVER (June 26) – Seattle University had 84 student-athletes honored by the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Thursday. Sixty-one Redhawks were named to the 2017 Spring Academic All-WAC Team, while 23 other SU newcomers earned recognition on the Freshmen/Transfers Academic Team.

Student-athletes had to have at least a 3.2 cumulative GPA and competed in at least 50 percent of their team's events.

Men's golf led the WAC with six selections on the academic squad. Men's tennis also topped the conference, as seven Redhawks earned accolades, while women's tennis landed six on the list, most in their sport.

Griffin Andreychuk, Ross Kukula, Dorsey Addicks, Kayla Gonzales, Barbara Carey, Katie Fleming, Mariah Gibbs, Moira O'Connor Lenth, Lila Rice, Mandy Rusch each earned All-WAC Academic for a third straight spring.
