SEATTLE - (May 8) The Seattle U men's tennis program has received a signed National Letter of Intent (NLI) from high school senior Emilio Monroy, as announced Monday by head coach Adam Reeb.
Monroy will join the Redhawk family after graduating from the Weil Tennis Academy and College Prepatory School in Ojai, Calif. He becomes the second member of Reeb's 2017 recruiting class, joining local signee Colton Weeldreyer from nearby Auburn, Wash.
According to tennisrecruiting.net, Monroy is a 4-star recruit and rated the 28th best propsect from California. He also served as the team captain for the Weil Academy Lions.
"Emilio is a great addition to our program," said Reeb. "He is a 4-star recruit who comes from a great training background from the Weil Tennis Academy in California.
The most exciting thing about Emilio is that he has a superb work ethic and he is constantly getting better. He has risen up in the national rankings the last few years, and we are confident he'll continue that trend here at Seattle U.
Emilio is really passionate about tennis and getting better, and he will fit in great with our team as we continue to strive to win our first WAC Championship."
