LAS CRUCES, N.M. (April 28) - A tough season for the Seattle U Men's Tennis team came to a close Friday afternoon at the New Mexico State Tennis Center as the Redhawks fell 4-0 to the Chicago State Cougars in the opening round of the WAC Tournament.

Playing in the singles no. 1 position, Arshak Ghazaryan fell to the Cougars Jiri Nouza 6-2, 6-3, while Michael Schoettler dropped his singles no. 3 match 6-0, 6-2. Similarly, Matt Alderson fell 6-2, 6-2 to CSU's Christian Gonzalez. Singles matches no. 2, 4, and 6 went unfinished.

In doubles no. 2, Michael Shoettler and John Stormans fell 6-0, while Trenton Nield and Adrian Sanabria dropped a 6-4 decision. Doubles match no. 1 did not finish.

Head coach Adam Reeb reflected on the season and what he is looking forward to about next year's team.

"Today was a tough match," said Reeb. "Chicago State played very well and we wish them the best of luck.

Our season didn't end the way we wanted, and while it really hurts now, we can use this feeling as motivation moving forward to next year. We've got a great group of guys and I'm proud of their efforts this year.

I want to thank our seniors Connor Leahy and John Stormans for their efforts and careers at SU. We appreciate them and will miss them."
