SEATTLE – (June 21) Seattle University men’s golf had two incoming freshmen qualify for the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship this month. Nathan Cogswell and Jack Rahon will both play in the 2018 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship at Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, N.J., next month.

“I am beyond excited for these two young men,” said Coach Marc Chandonnet. “They are both extremely hard workers with amazing support systems. What a great opportunity for them to meet each other at the world’s most premier junior event prior to the start of school!”

At Gold Mountain Golf Club in Bremerton, Wash., Cogswell shot a 1-under 71, tying for second place at the sectional tournament. He then advanced through a four-way playoff to qualify for the national event. Cogswell is a recent graduate of Kentwood High in Covington, Wash.

Rahon tied for first at Copper River Country Club in Fresno, Calif., earning medalist honors at the sectional. Rahon graduated from Servite High in Anaheim, Calif.

Cogswell and Rahon will both head to Baltustrol July 16-21 for the national tournament and then come to Seattle U to begin school in the fall.
