FRESNO, Calif. – (Oct. 3) Seattle University's Joe Harvie shot a one-over-par 215 over three rounds of play at Sunnyside Golf Course in Fresno, Calif., Monday and Tuesday, good for a fifth-place finish in the field of 92 at the Nick Watney Invitational, hosted by Fresno State.
The Orting, Wash., native, and lone senior on the Redhawks' men's golf team, shot a one-under-par 70 in the tournament's opening round, a two-over 73 in round two and a one-over 72 in Tuesday's final round.
Freshman Gabe Spach was the next best finisher for the Redhawks, tying for 38th with an 11-over-par 224 (75-75-74). Zack Overstreet tied for 58th at 16-over 229 (75-73-81), Nick Baker tied for 79th at 23-over 236 (77-76-83) and Quinton Borseth tied for 88th at 27-over 240 (77-82-81).
The Redhawks placed 12th overall in the field of 16 teams.
Seattle U heads back to California in two weeks, competing in the Bill Cullum Invitational, hosted by CSUN at the Wood Ranch Country Club in Simi Valley, Calif.
