SEATTLE (March 16) – Seattle University softball travels to the Grizzly Classic for five games this weekend. It will face Maine twice and Montana three times in the event, hosted by the University of Montana.

On Friday, Seattle U (6-16) takes on Maine at 10 a.m. and then Montana at 12:15 p.m. The Redhawks play the Black Bears Saturday at 10 a.m. and then the Grizzlies at 2:30 p.m. On Sunday, SU wraps up its weekend with an 11:45 a.m. contest against Montana.

Coach Geoff Hirai’s squad is coming off a 1-2 weekend at the Husky Classic. Alyssa Reuble threw a perfect game in an 8-0, five-inning win over South Dakota. It is the third perfect game in program history and the first by a WAC pitcher since 2010. Reuble was named WAC Pitcher of the Week following her performance.

Maine is 2-13, including an 0-4 weekend in Utah last weekend. It dropped a pair of games at Utah Valley and then lost at BYU twice.

Montana (9-14) went 2-2 at the Golden Hurricane Classic in Oklahoma last weekend. The Grizzles defeated Texas Tech and Wichita State and lost to Tulsa and California.

Nicole Bolasky is hitting .405 with a team-high .486 slugging percentage in 18 games. Paige Bouska has made 22 starts and has a .367 batting average with 15 runs scored. Kaylee Ree leads the Redhawks with two home runs, 10 RBIs, and 12 walks.

Erika Leonard and Rachel Carlson are both batting .319 to pace Maine. Alyssa Derrick has a team-high five homers and 10 runs batted in. The Black Bears won the America East Championship last season.

Bethany Olea tops Montana with a .394 batting average. Delene Colburn has five home runs, 15 RBIs, and a .691 slugging percentage.

The Redhawks won two contests against Montana last month in Santa Clara, Calif. Reuble and Andie Larkins locked down the Grizzlies' offense, holding Montana to three runs across two games.
