SEATTLE – (April 16) Julia Gorman and Paige Treff of Seattle University women’s swimming and Matt Alderson of men’s tennis will be inducted into the SU chapter of Alpha Sigma Nu, the honor society of Jesuit institutions of higher education.

This year’s ceremony will be held on Wednesday, April 18, in Pigott Auditorium. Alderson will be a member in the Albers School of Business and Economics, Gorman as a College Science and Engineering inductee, and Treff will go in as a member of the College of Arts & Sciences.

Alpha Sigma Nu was founded in 1915 to honor students each year based on scholarship, loyalty, and service. It is one of the top recognitions given on a Jesuit campus.

Alderson has won 35 career singles matches as a Redhawk. The lone senior on the men’s tennis roster, he earned WAC Doubles Team of the Week along with Colton Weeldreyer last week.

Gorman swam the ninth-fastest 200 freestyle time in program history at the 2018 WAC Championships. The senior was also a member of the 400 freestyle relay and 800 freestyle relay teams that both compiled all-time top-five finishes at SU.

Treff capped a terrific senior season at the WAC Championships, setting three new school records at the meet. She holds Redhawk records in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, and 100 butterfly.
