SEATTLE (May 11) – Sidney Pinger of the Seattle University women's swimming team has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Second Team. Pinger, a senior, is the first Redhawk swimmer to earn the honor.

From the CoSIDA website, “To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution.”

The native of Tualatin, Oregon, has a 3.95 grade point average while majoring in marketing. She is one of four Western Athletic Conference (WAC) student-athletes to be named to the At-Large teams. Pinger is one of 12 members on the second team. The senior is a two-time WAC All-Academic choice in her career.

In the pool, Pinger holds four individual all-time top-ten performances at Seattle U. She is also a member of the school-record setting 200 freestyle relay and 800 freestyle relay squads at SU.
