LPGA Q-SCHOOL - STAGE I RESULTS

SEATTLE – (Sept. 7) On the heels of concluding her collegiate golf career at Seattle U this past spring, Dorsey Addicks is chasing the next level – becoming a professional golfer.

Recently, she completed the first step – making the cut at the LPGA Qualifying School Stage I after four rounds of play at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif. Addicks now advances to Stage II of LPGA Tour Qualifying School in Venice, Fla.

“My play at Q-School was some of the best golf I’ve ever played," said Addicks. "I feel like I’m finally seeing results from all the hard work I’ve put in over the past four years, and this summer. It was an incredible experience that I’ll never forget."

Addicks finished in a tie for 70th place with a two-over-par 290. She shot two under-par rounds, opening play with a two-under 70, while also carding a three-under 69 in the third round.

"This is definitely a confidence booster and I couldn’t be more excited for what is ahead," said Addicks. "The experience I was able to gain by playing four years at Seattle University was incredibly valuable in helping me get to this moment. I’m really honored to represent Seattle University in my pursuit to the next level."

By making the cut, Addicks gets Symetra Tour status, which is run by the LPGA and one notch below the LPGA Tour.

"Dorsey set the bar at Seattle University as an individual who had a sincere love for the game and a passion to work hard," said SU Head Coach Marc Chandonnet. "As a coach trying to instill a championship culture I will always be appreciative of that. Making it through the first stage of LPGA tour Q-School is quite an accomplishment and I'm not surprised to see some of the early successes she's having at this point."

The second stage of Q-School will be held Thursday, Oct. 19 through Sunday, Oct. 22 at Plantation Golf and Country Club. The top 80 players and ties will advance to Qualifying School Stage III while all other players who complete 72 holes will receive Symetra Tour status (based on finish) for the 2018 season.
