SEATTLE – (Aug. 29) Seattle University women's golf will compete in 10 tournaments throughout the 2017-18 season, including two close to home, as the full slate has been unveiled by Head Coach Marc Chandonnet.
"I'm very excited about our 2017-2018 schedule, which sees the addition of a couple new events this year," said Chandonnet. "We will be competing close to home a few times this fall in some very strong fields including our home event, the Pat Lesser Harbottle Seattle U Redhawk Invitational and the University of Washington’s event at Sahalee Country Club."
The fall season begins at the WSU Cougar Cup in Pullman, Wash., on Sept. 18-19. On Oct. 11-12, the Redhawks will compete in the UW Edean Invitational, hosted by the University of Washington at Sahalee Country Club. The following week, Seattle U hosts its own Pat Lesser-Harbottle Invitational at the Tacoma Country and Golf Club, wrapping up the fall portion of the schedule.
The spring season begins Feb. 12-13 at the Gold Rush Invitational hosted by Long Beach State. Following tournaments hosted by Grand Canyon and Fresno State, the Redhawks look to defend their tournament title at the Red Rocks Invitational, March 23-25. Two more tournament follow before the WAC Championship April 16-18 at the Legacy GOlf Club in Phoenix.
"On paper, we have our highest-ranked freshman recruiting class coming in," said Chandonnet. "With a group of solid returners as well, I think we all believe the team is poised to make a run at this years Western Athletic Conference Championship. The spring will find us in a few new events as well, again with very strong fields and an opportunity to defend our regular season win at the Northern Arizona University Lumberjack Invitational."
