DENVER – (Mar. 8) Seattle University's Ellen Brantberg has been named Western Athletic Conference Women’s Golfers of the Week, for the week of March 1 through March 7.

Brantberg, a senior from Stockholm, Sweden (Viktor Rydberg Gymnasium), had one of the best finishes of her Seattle U career, tying for second at the Red Rocks Invitational in Sedona, Ariz. She fired a 1-under-par 215 on the tournament to help lead the Redhawks to the team title. Her best round came on the opening day, shooting a 3-under-par 69 in the first round.

Other women’s nominees: Grand Canyon’s Courtney Vogel took second at the UTRGV Invitational, shooting an 11-over-par 224 … UT Rio Grande Valley’s Michelle Moroles tied for eighth at the UTRGV Invitational with a 16-over-par 229 … Utah Valley’s Ana Raga shot a 9-over-par 225 to tie for 17th at the Red Rocks Invitational.
