SEATTLE – Seattle University women's rowing continued its spring season of competition Saturday morning, competing in both the Collegiate Women's 3V8+ and Collegiate Women's V4+ as part of the Husky Open hosted by the University of Washington on Montlake Cut.

The Redhawks placed third in a field of four rigs in the 3V8+ race, finishing in 7:17.827. Seattle U was second in a heat of four in the V4+ race, edging out Portland, with a time of 7:40:850.

"We had some great racing today," said Head Coach Jenny Park. "We gained a bit of speed over spring break and it showed today. We're excited to get back to training on Monday and work out a few more kinks, but overall we are definitely happy with how the team performed today."

The Redhawks are back in the water next weekend, competing in the Covered Bridge Regatta in Eugene, Ore., on Saturday, Apr. 6.
