TACOMA, Wash. – (Jan. 5) Seattle University men’s swimming won, 181-62, at Pacific Lutheran Friday night. Jack Baldoni, Morgan Montemayor, and Greg Raper were both two-time winners to lead the Redhawks (2-2) to victory.

“We had really good swims tonight,” said Coach Craig Nisgor. “It was a total team effort. Everyone was getting behind their teammates tonight.”

In the 100 butterfly, Baldoni and Shawn Fujii placed at the top. Baldoni put up a 51.16 to claim first.

Baldoni and Shawn Fujii went 1-2 in the 50 butterfly. Baldoni tallied a 22.99 to win the race.

Raper posted a 21.69 in the 50 freestyle, winning the event. Mitchell Crossen and Isaac Parker finished second and third, respectively.

Raper, Jake Goguen, and Alex Roderick claimed the top three spots in the 100 freestyle Friday. Raper’s 48.91 inched out Goguen by .06 seconds.

Montemayor and Ryan Shaw took gold and silver in both the 50 backstroke and 100 backstroke.

Alex Roderick, Goguen, and Zach Zenteno went 1-2-3 in the 200 freestyle, as Roderick won with a 1:46.95 showing.

Shawn Fujii won the 100 breaststroke with a 1:02.42 performance.

Austin Barnard and Luke Christensen were the top performers in the 500 freestyle, as Barnard won with a 4:54.45 time.

Ben Nussbaum won the 100 IM, logging a 55.76 to collect the victory.

Montemayor, Nussbaum, Baldoni, and Crossen combined for a 3:31.80 in the 400 medley relay, winning the race easily.

The 200 freestyle relay team of Ian Keane, Isaac Parker, Zach Zenteno, and Julian Morales combined for a 1:29.26 to touch first. 

The Redhawks welcome Whitworth for senior day on Saturday. The meet begins at 2 p.m. at the Connolly Complex, as SU will recognize its Class of 2018-Baldoni, Montemayor, Morales, and Nussbaum-prior to the contest.
