SEATTLE – (Aug. 2) Jessica Perez, a four-year standout at Loyola Marymount University has joined the Seattle University women's tennis coaching staff, Head Coach Adam Reeb announced Wednesday.

"I'm so excited to have Jessica Perez joining our women's tennis program," said Reeb. "Coach Perez was an extremely successful tennis student-athlete at Loyola Marymount, and she'll bring her history of success and her overall professionalism to our team. She'll be a great mentor and leader to our current student-athletes, and her high level of experiences in college tennis will be an invaluable resource to our program. Coach Perez will be a great addition to our team as we continue to strive towards winning our first WAC Championship."

Perez wrapped up her collegiate playing career in the spring of 2017, capping her senior season off earning All-West Coast Conference Singles and Doubles Second Team honors. She went 20-13 overall, including 9-9 in duals playing at #1 singles, was 11-4 in tournament play and 4-3 in WCC matches, and was 19-13 overall as a doubles player, including 6-1 in WCC play.

"I'm really excited to start working with the girls and be a part of the program" Perez said. "College coaching has been something I've always been drawn to ever since I started my college tennis career because I enjoyed the environment so much. Since I just finished my college tennis career, I feel like I have a lot to offer to the girls when it comes to being a Division I student-athlete. I'm so grateful to have this opportunity to work with Coach Reeb and the rest of the team this season and start my college coaching career at Seattle U."

A graduate of Dana Hills High School in Dana Hills, Calif., Perez was an impact player at LMU from the get go. She earned honorable mention All-WCC as a singles player, and second team All-WCC as a doubles player as a freshman. She went on to take home second team All-WCC honors as a sophomore in 2015. Perez graduated from LMU with a bachelor's degree in humanities in May 2017.
