SEATTLE – (Sept. 10) Seattle U men's golf opens the 2017-18 season on Monday, Sept. 11 and Tuesday, Sept. 12 at the Itani Qulity Homes Collegiate, hosted by Washington State University at the Palouse Ridge Golf Course in Pullman, Wash.

The Redhawks are the reigning Western Athletic Conference champions, but will also feature a slew of new faces this season as they return just three players after graduating five seniors. Joe Harvie is the lone senior on the 2017-18 squad while sophomore Zack Overstreet, the 2017 WAC Freshman of the Year, also returns.

Four new faces all hail from the state of Washington - Nick Baker of Cle Elum, Wash., Quinton Borseth of Stanwood, Wash., Ben Gruher of Camas, Wash., and Gabe pach of Seattle.

THE COURSE: WSU's Palouse Ridge Golf Club is located on campus and was the host for the 2015 Men's Pac-12 Golf Championships… the 7,308-yard track will play at par 71... teams will play 36 holes Monday with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m…the tournament concludes Tuesday with 18 holes beginning at 8:30 a.m… the course, which opened in Aug. 2008, was named to Golfweek's Top College Courses list in 2014 and 2015.

THE TOURNAMENT: This year marks the tournament's ninth occurrence in Pullman, and the sixth year that Itani Quality Homes has sponsored… Washington State has won the title every year except for 2011 and 2014… Seattle U placed in a tie for seventh in a field of 14 teams last year... then senior Ross Kukula was the Redhawks' top finisher, placing in a tie for 14th.

THE FIELD: Joining Seattle U in the 11-team field are host WSU, British Columbia, Cal State Fullerton, Boise State, Cal Baptist, Long Beach State, Sacramento State, Idaho, South Dakota, and UTRGV.
