The dance team consists of 12-16 members and runs for a full year. The purpose of the team is to promote school spirit through performances and appearances at athletics and other campus-wide events; act as representatives of Seattle University in the local community, and work towards competing at the regional and national level.
Any incoming freshmen and current full-time undergraduate SU students who are in good academic standing (GPA of 2.0 or above) are eligible to tryout out for the dance team. Medical clearance will be required after the team has been selected.

The dance team practices three days a week for approximately three hours. This time includes cardio-training, conditioning, technique practice, and choreography. Additional weight training and conditioning will be determined at the discretion of the coach. During the summer months, the squad members who are selected in the spring will be required to complete an exercise program and work on a list of technical skills to be checked off in the fall.
During the year, the dance team performs on a regular basis at athletics events and pep rallies, as well as other school functions. During basketball season, the squad will be required to attend and perform at both men’s and women’s home basketball games. Games will be approximately twice a week, for about four hours (including prep-time, warm-up, etc.) outside of normal practice time. Other off-campus performances and appearances will be scheduled by the coach throughout the year.
