EDINBURG, Texas – Seattle University baseball played to its 12th one-run game of the season Sunday afternoon at UTRGV Baseball Stadium in Edinburg, Texas, coming up on the short end of this one, 7-6, in 10 innings.

UTRGV's Coleman Grubbs delivered a solo home run in the bottom of the 10th to snap a 6-6 tie and a back-and-forth affair to close out the Western Athletic Conference series.

The Redhawks (9-33, 4-14 WAC) took the first lead of the game as Connor O'Brien and Chase Wells delivered RBI hits in the top of the first.

The Vaqueros would get one run back in the second, but Seattle U added third run in the fifth on a Max Werner solo homer.

Four UTRGV runs in the sixth handed the home team the lead briefly, 5-3, but the Redhawks responded with a big three-run seventh to go back on top. But the Vaqueros forced extra innings, scoring an unearned run in the home half of the ninth.

After Seattle U went three-up, three-down in the top of the 10th, the game looked headed to the 11th after Redhawk pitcher Desmond Parisotto got two quick fly outs in the home half. But Grubbs would come through for the Vaqueros with a homer.

Seattle U finished with an 11-10 edge in hits, led by O'Brien's 3-for-5 performance. Wells and Kyler Murphy added two each.

The Redhawks play their final non-conference game on Tuesday, Apr. 30, traveling to face crosstown rival Washington in a 6 p.m. start at Husky Ballpark. For the most up-to-date information on game day, be sure to follow the Redhawks on Twitter at @seattleubase.
