The Redhawk Baseball Institute will host its annual Pitcher/Catcher Camp Nov. 16-18 at the Connolly Center AstroGym.
Student-athletes will learn new cutting-edge pitching and catching techniques, while also obtaining skills from college coaches and professional scouts. Both pitchers and catchers will receive information packets, attend seminars from guest instructors, and get personal evaluations on how to improve their ability to have success on the field and off.
A "Coaches Corner" will be conducted as well, allowing for campers and parents to learn more about what it takes to be fully prepared on and off the field for college or professional baseball. Admissions, financial aid and eligibility issues will be covered. Parents and campers are encouraged to start writing down questions beforehand for the coaches to answer.
The camp will have representatives from every level of college baseball in the Northwest. A number of schools are invited to attend, even if they can't work the camp, to at least come out and watch to help out in their recruiting efforts.
The cost of the camp is $279 for pitchers and $239 for catcher. The camp will run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17; and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18. Campers need to go to the Seattle University website at www.goseattleu.com and click on CAMPS. The camp and all the information is under "Pitcher/Catcher Camp".
If you have trouble signing up, do not want to pay with a Visa, or have additional questions about the camp, you can call Cam Harrel at 425-273-4550 or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org. Lodging specials can be found at the Silver Cloud Hotels (206-325-1400) or the Crown Plaza Hotel (1-800-521-2762). Use the "Seattle University Baseball Prospect Camp" to get a discount.
The Seattle University baseball program has joined the Western Athletic Conference and will be eligible for the NCAA Tournament.
