Seattle University men's soccer team senior tri-captain Marshall Kosaka (Burien, Wash.) and junior transfer Mikey Ramos (Spokane Valley, Wash.) were selected to represent the Redhawks on the All-MPSF Team for their contributions on the field throughout the 2011 campaign. Ramos led the way, earning second team honors, while Kosaka was an honorable mention selection.
"We are very proud of Mikey and Marshall for being voted to the All-MPSF Team. They both have been consistently dangerous against every team we played and I am glad to see them recognized by the rest of the conference. Both of them will be back and we expect even bigger things from them next season," said head coach Brad Agoos.
In his first season at Seattle U, Ramos became an immediate impact player. The forward saw action in all 17 games, starting 15. During that span he scored a pair of goals, tying him as the squad's second-leading scorer, while dishing a team-leading five assists for a team-high nine points.
Kosaka (pictured right) continued to showcase his career-long progression this year. The veteran leader saw action in 16 games, while starting five. Kosaka concluded the year as the Redhawks' leading scorer, tallying three goals and adding an assist for seven points on the season.
Both Ramos and Kosaka, who earned conference honors for the first time in their respective careers, will return to action next season, as both have an additional year of eligibility remaining.
