HOUSTON – Seattle University women’s swimming began competition at the 2019 Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Championships Wednesday. The 200 medley relay and 800 freestyle relay both posted all-time top-10 showings at the CRWC Natatorium.

"We had some strong stuff today," said Coach Craig Nisgor. "We just missed out on a couple of opportunities. It was a good learning experience for some people. We'll get going the right way and try again tomorrow."

In the 200 medley relay, SU tallied a 1:47.05, good for the eighth-best time in program history. The group of Jennifer Wong, Darian Himes, Sherlyn Devadason, and Allison Plamondon clocked the time in Wednesday’s race.

The 800 freestyle relay of Julia Gorman, Jayna Van Stone, Sarah Carr, and Emily Gough finished in 7:37.18. The effort is the sixth-fastest in school history.

On Thursday, the meet rolls on with the first full day of competition. The 200 freestyle relay, 500 freestyle, 200 IM, and 50 freestyle races will be held.
