FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – Seattle University women’s swimming continued its stellar weekend at the 2018 Husky Invite Saturday. The 800 freestyle relay squad broke into the program’s all-time top 10.

"We had a strong day," said Coach Craig Nisgor. "People had good times all over. I like that we're being consistent from prelims to finals. That's not easy to do on short rest."

In the 800 freestyle relay, Julia Gorman, Jayna Van Stone, Sarah Carr, and Maddie Rapp finished in 7:46.28, posting the 10th-best time in program history and taking ninth in Saturday’s final.

In the 200 freestyle, freshman Marissa Chan claimed a 2:02.18, marking a lifetime best in the event.

Emily Bakewell logged a personal-best 100 breaststroke time of 1:09.86.

In the 200 freestyle, Carr, a freshman, contributed a lifetime-best swim of 1:55.01.

The Husky Invite concludes on Sunday. Six more events are slated for the final day of the meet.
