PHOENIX – Seattle University women’s swimming beat Loyola Marymount, 109-93, at Grand Canyon Friday afternoon. The Redhawks also dropped a 144-59 decision to GCU.

"We missed some things early," said Coach Craig Nisgor. "We got rolling as we went along today. We closed out well and the relays were solid for us."

Bryn Lasher notched a second-place finish in the 100 butterfly. She touched in 59.30 for silver.

In the 100 backstroke, Allison Plamondon took third, beating all LMU swimmers. The sophomore swam a 1:00.83 for bronze.

Darian Himes placed third in the 100 breaststroke. She touched in 1:11.35 in the event. In the 400 IM, Himes also claimed bronze with a 4:50.30 effort.

The 400 freestyle relay finished second Friday. Bryn Lasher, Sarah Carr, Julia Gorman, and Jayna Van Stone combined to log a 3:44.36 performance.

In the 200 medley relay, Plamondon, Himes, Lasher, and Margaux Thompson teamed up for a third-place finish. SU touched in 1:53.32.

The Redhawks face GCU and LMU again tomorrow. The meet is set for an 11 a.m. start.
