On Jan. 18-19, Van Maren anchored the 400 yard medley relay in 58.30 (relay time 4:16.35) ... swam 200 yard IM in 2:23.86 ... took fourth in 200 yard breaststroke with a time of 2:34.75 ... swam second leg of 200 yard medley in 31.51 (relay time 1:57.67) ... took fourth in 50 yard freestyle with a time of 25.53 ... took second in 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:09.26

On Nov. 30 to Dec 2 in Husky Invitational, Van Maren swam the 200 yard Breastroke preliminaries with a time of 2:33.71, taking 83rd ... participated in the 100 yard Freestyle in 57.03 ... finished 400 yard Freestyle Relay in 3:48.06, taking 49th ... anchored the 100 yard Breastroke with a time of 1:09.05, placing 74th ... anchored the 100 yard Butterfly in 1:02.68, took 142nd ... swam the Medley Relay in 1:57.49, finished 60th.
Versus Simon Fraser Nov. 10, Van Maren swam the second leg for the third-place 400 yard Medley Relay in 1:09.70 (relay time of 4.10.91) ... swam the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:16:82 ... took sixth in the 200 yard Breaststroke at 2:29.71.
At CSU Bakersfield Oct. 20, Van Maren swam the 100 yard Breast, finishing in 1:08.77 and took fourth place ... swam the 200 yard Breast with a time of 2:28.28, taking third place.
At Idaho Oct. 13, Van Maren swam second leg of fourth-place 400 free relay in 57.71 (relay time 3:52.65) ... swam the second leg for the sixth-place 200 yard medley relay team in 32.75 (relay time of 1:58.28) ... swam the 100 yard breaststroke in 1:10.26, taking sixth ... completed 200 breast in 2:33.97.
At Washington State Oct. 12, Van Maren finished the 100 yard Breast with a time of 1:10.18, taking sixth place.
2011-12: At Boise State (Oct. 14-15), swam second leg in 400 medley relay with a split of 1:09.69 ... finished 100 breaststroke in 1:10.06 ... swam in 400 free relay, finishing the third leg in 57.54 (relay time of 3:50.61).
In a home meet against UC Davis and Idaho on October 22, Van Maren swam in 200 yard Medley Relay (relay time of 1:55.98... placed ninth in the 100 yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:10.58... swam the 200 yard Breaststroke in 2:33.73...placed seventh in the 400 yard Free Relay with a relay time of 3:47.90.
At Oregon State University on October 29, placed eighth in the 100 yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:12.74... took fifth in the 200 yard Breaststroke with a time of 2:35.97... swam in the 200 yard Freestyle Relay taking fourth with a time of 1:44.41.
In a weekend meet at the Univ. of Pacific on November 4-5, Van Maren swam the 200 Medley Relay with a relay time of 1:53.73...competed in the 50 Freestyle with a time of 26.19...swam the 200 Breaststroke with a time of 2:35.19...On Nov. 5, swam the 200 Freestyle with a time of 2:07.14...took eighth in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:10.43...placed sixth in the 200 Breaststroke with a time of 2:34.90...placed fourth in the 400 Freestyle Relay with a time of 3:53.01.
At the University of Denver on November 12, Van Maren was part of the seventh place team in the 200 Medley relay (relay time of 1:53.56) ... finished thirteenth in the 200 Breaststroke in 2:36.78.
In a home meet versus Boise State on Nov. 29, Van Maren swam the second leg of a 200 medley relay in 21.79 (team time 1:59.05) ... finished the 100 breast in 1:10.45 ... swam the 200 breast in 2:34.75.
In dual meet versus Simon Fraser (Jan. 20), swam second leg of 200 yard medley relay in 32.59 (relay time 1:56.41) ... swam 50 free in 26.59 ... swam 200 breast in 2:31.62.
In home meet versus Simon Fraser and Washington State (Jan. 21), swam 100 yard freestyle in 56.78 ... swam 100 breast in 1:09.74 ... participated in 400 medley relay.
At MPSF Championships Feb. 15-18, swam 100 yard breaststroke in 1:09.81 during bonus final (preliminary time 1:08.43) ... swam second leg of 200 yard medley relay in 31.52 (relay time 1:54.74).
High School: Van Maren spent four years swimming varsity for Newport High School. She was named All-League and also All-District Honorable Mention, and named MVP and Captain in 2010. She was the league champion for 100 yard breaststroke 2009 and 2010, and also given the Coaches Award in 2009. She helped the Knights go undefeated in league competition in 2010 and claim second place in both the district and the state.
Club Experience: Van Maren swam for the Bellevue Club from 2006 to 2011. In 2011 she received the club's Most Improved Award.
Personal: Full name Caroline Lavender Van Maren. Parents are Robyn and Mike Van Maren, and she has a younger sister named Emily. Her mom played basketball at Whitman College, and she's related to Jeff Lavender, who played basketball at Westmont College. Van Maren is majoring in marketing, and she wants to pursue a career in that field. In her spare time, she is a lifeguard at the Newport Hills Swim and Tennis Club and the Newport Yacht Club.
