Summer 2011: After a strong freshman campaign, Cory joined the Walla Walla Sweets along with fellow pitcher Eric Yardley. Cory's experience out of the bullpen helped him this summer as all 6 of his appearences came out of the pen. Cory pitched 15 innings with 4.15 era. His ability to keep hitters off balance and keep the ball low helped him to only give up 3 extra base hits all summer. Cory also helped Walla Walla to an unexpected run through the West Coast League playoffs, until being beat in the championship by the Corvallis Knights and fellow Redhawk Trent Oleszczuk.
