SEATTLE - (Aug. 21) Seattle University women’s basketball will travel to Europe this week for a foreign tour. The Redhawks will head to The Netherlands and France from August 24-31.

“The foreign tour is providing us an opportunity to grow more closely as a team, experience beautiful countries and allow us to explore historical sites,” said Coach Suzy Barcomb. “We are combining academics and athletics, with a cultural experience and we are truly looking forward to this trip.”

After arriving in Amsterdam on Aug. 25, the Redhawks will play a game, take a walking tour and boat tour of the city, and visit the Anne Frank House and Zaanse Schans in their three days in town.

On Aug. 28, Seattle U will travel to Paris and play a game that night. A city tour, including a stop at the Eiffel Tower, and a trip to Normandy will be included on the itinerary for France.

“The sport of basketball is affording us this opportunity to play the game we love, travel to Europe, learn more about ourselves and our teammates,” said Barcomb.

In Barcomb’s first season, Seattle U greatly outperformed expectations, finishing second in the WAC and qualifying for the WNIT. The team returns several key contributors, including Alexis Montgomery, who was chosen All-WAC First Team, and Kamira Sanders, the WAC Freshman of the Year.

GoSeattleU.com will have frequent updates on the trip and the women's basketball Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook pages will also have the latest content from the Redhawks' tour.
