RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. – (Feb. 13) Zack Overstreet shot an impressive 65 in the first round of the Farms Invitational on Monday, and finished in 6th place overall as the Seattle University men’s golf team finished in 9th place as a team.
Overstreet got the tournament started on the right foot, finishing in first place seven-under par. He shot seven birdies on the round.
“I’m really excited about the positives this week,” head coach Marc Chandonnet said. “Zack shot the lowest round of the event with a 7 under 65 and overall had a great finish in a very strong field and on a tough golf course.”
Joe Harvie finished the tournament with a strong third round. He shot a 74 helping the Redhawks climb up the rankings and giving Chandonnet some positive signs.
“Everyone battled out there,” he said. “We are a little young and inexperienced but I’m confident we will learn from this, and improve our preparation and be better prepared for our next event.”
The Redhawks’ next event will be at the Brandon Dunes invitational hosted by Gonzaga from March 11-13 in Brandon, Oregon.
