VANCOUVER LAKE, Wash. – Seattle University rowing opened the 2019 spring season in a dual with University of Portland on Saturday morning at Vancouver Lake. The Redhawks raced a pair of boats - a novice 8+ and varsity 4+.

"This was a great first race to start our season and give us a baseline," said Head Coach Jenny Park. "We are looking forward to training hard over spring break and build off of what we learned in Vancouver."

The young Redhawk squad turned in a time of 7:44.76 in the novice 8+, a boat comprised entirely of freshmen.

In the varsity 4+ race, the Redhawks finished third in a time of 8:00.37.
Seattle U will next compete in the 2019 Husky Open, scheduled for Saturday, Mar. 30 on Lake Washington.
