PHOENIX – Seattle U women’s golf wrapped up their first spring tournament of the 2019 season on Sunday, competing against 19 other talented teams and entering a field of 108 total golfers at the Grand Canyon University Invitational. Toledo ended up winning the team title at 13 total strokes over par, with South Dakota State’s Teresa Toscano (-4) winning a heart-thumping playoff round for the individual title. The Redhawks finished the tournament with a score of 58-over.

Sophomores Kimberlee Tottori and Keisha Lugito tied for 28th place at 10-over, leading Seattle U. Tottori (75-76-75) stayed even-keeled through all three rounds, while Lugito (79-78-69) roaring back from early struggles with a fantastic third-round score of 69. For the others, sophomore Vendela From (80-76-81) was able to find her stride on Saturday afternoon, junior Krystal Hu (78-78-82) had a consistent first day, and senior Yen Ting Wong (84-81-77) was able to bring her stroke count down in each subsequent round.

Next up, Seattle U will travel to Kailua, Hawaii on March 12-13 for the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational.
