GREELEY, Colo. - (Apr. 7) Behind a season-high 19 hits, Seattle U baseball picked up a big Western Athletic Conference road win, 14-12, at Northern Colorado Friday.

The Redhawks improve to 10-18-1 overall and 2-5 in WAC play while Northern Colorado drops to 11-16 overall and 3-4 in league action.

Curtis Perrin led SU at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with a triple and two home runs. The junior also scored four runs, batted in four and walked once.

Perrin tripled in the second inning and scored on a Griffin Andreychuk single to center to put Seattle U on the board first. He led off the third inning with a walk and would later score on an Austin Lively RBI-double, making it 2-0 Redhawks. His homer to left to lead off the fifth made it 3-0 and the Redhawks would score once more in the inning to go up 4-0.

After tossing four scoreless innings, Redhawk starter Jake Prizina surrendered three runs off four hits in the home half of the fifth. But the brief one-run score would not last long.

Led by Perrin’s three-run shot in the top of the sixth, Seattle U posted five runs in the frame to lead 9-3.

The flood gates opened on both sides in the late innings. The Bears trimmed into the SU lead in the sixth with a pair of runs off a Payton Tapia homer. Seattle U answered with four runs on five hits in the top of the seventh, and once again UNC came back, tacking on three runs in the bottom of the inning.

Seattle U made it 14-8 in the eighth off a Jack Reisinger solo homer. The Bears made things interesting in the bottom of the inning, scoring four times to pull with two, 14-12. But closer Connor Moore earned his second save of the year by shutting down the Bears in the ninth.

Prizina fanned five in six innings to improve to 4-1 on the year. Joining Perrin with three hits were Lively, Reisinger and Chase Wells. Lively and Andreychuk had three RBIs each.
