SAMMAMISH, WASH. – Only a week after their last tournament, Seattle U women’s golf will continue their quest for improvement in Sammamish, Wash., at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational. The event, beginning at 7:50 AM on Oct. 9 and lasting two days, will be hosted by the University of Washington at the par-72 Sahalee Country Club. The Redhawks will compete against 11 other teams: Brigham Young, Georgetown, Hawaii, Iowa, Long Beach State, Oregon State, Pepperdine, Rutgers, San Francisco, UC Davis, and Washington, ranked number 16 in the country by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association. In total, the field contains ten nationally-ranked golfers.
In her first year at Seattle U, junior Krystal Hu has led the way in each of the team’s first two tournaments, nabbing an impressive third-place finish at the Rose City Collegiate. Senior teammate Yen Ting Wong also performed well at that tournament while competing as an individual, finishing in sixth place.
So far, the Redhawks have team finishes of 16th place and sixth place.
