CHICAGO – (Oct. 14) Behind a big blocking performance and all-around solid attack, Seattle University volleyball remained perfect in its all-time series against Chicago State, taking the Western Athletic Conference match, 3-1, Saturday at the Dickens Center in Chicago.

The Redhawks (7-13, 3-4 WAC) held a 13-7 edge in team blocks as Katarina Glavinic accounted for a pair of solo blocks and seven block assists. Mila Duarte added one solo block and five block assists.

Offensively, Rachel Stark led the way with 14 kills while Victoria Demmene added 12 kills and 13 digs for her first double-double of the season. Freshman libero Tijana Milojevic collected a career-high 33 digs.

Chicago State was led by Carmen Carvajal with 17 kills and Alexandria Cliff with 11.

Seattle U started strong, winning each of the first two sets by scores of 25-23. The Redhawks hit a match-high .367 in set two, collecting 16 kills on 30 swings with just five errors.

The Cougars kept alive in the third set with a 25-18 win, but Seattle U put the match away with a 25-18 victory in the fourth set.

Seattle U continues its three-match WAC road swing next Saturday, Oct. 21 at Utah Valley.
