STOCKTON, CALIF. – Seattle U men’s golf closed out their fall season today after three days of competition at the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational, held from Oct. 21-23 at The Reserve at Spanos Park. Nathan Cogswell continued his stellar sophomore campaign with a four-under 212, good for a seventh-place tie, after shooting 72-69-71 with an eagle. As a team, the Redhawks finished 11th out of 16 total entries, with a total score of fourteen over par.

As for the other Redhawks, sophomore Federico Gutierrez had consistent improvement throughout the tournament, following rounds of 75 and 74 with a three-under 69 and finishing with a total of 218. Classmate Jack Rahon remained steady across three rounds, shooting an eagle in the first and posting 74-73-75 for a six-over 222. Senior Greg Gionfriddo played his best on Day Two, finishing at 78-74-77, and freshman Will Koepke shot 84-76-74 in his second collegiate tournament.

San Jose State won the team title with a combined minus-sixteen, while Spartan golfer Sean Yu took the individual title with minus-eleven.

Seattle U will tee off their 2020 spring season at the Pizza Hut Pat Hicks Invitational, hosted by Southern Utah University. The tournament will take place in St. George, Utah, from Feb. 10-11.
