• The Redhawks welcome No. 3 USC, the highest-ranked Division I team to ever play at Championship Field.

Jessie Ray earned WAC Offensive Player of the Week honors for the period ending Sept. 8 after scoring two goals at Idaho on Sept. 6. The senior claimed her third career WAC weekly award for her performance.

• SU dropped a 4-0 decision at Gonzaga on Sept. 8. Madison Waguespack made four saves in the contest.

• USC features senior Jalen Woodward, the daughter of Redhawks’ Coach Julie Woodward. Jalen Woodward has appeared in 70 career matches, making 52 starts at midfield. She was a key member of the Trojans’ NCAA Championship team in 2016.

• USC is 6-0 after a 2-0 win over Nebraska on Sunday. Tara McKeown scored twice in the victory. She leads the Trojans with seven goals and four assists in 2019.

• Seattle U won, 3-0, at Idaho on Sept. 6 at the Kibbie Dome. Jessie Ray scored two goals and Rakel Leosdottir recorded her first career goal in the victory.

Madison Waguespack made four saves on her way to a shutout at Idaho. The freshman has three shutouts in four starts to begin her Redhawk career. She went 3-0-1 in her first four starts.

• Gonzaga is 3-2 in 2019, including a 1-0 overtime loss to Washington State on Thursday night.

• Lauren Elwer and Erin Healy top Gonzaga with three goals apiece through five outings this season.

Bailey Hall scored in the 78th minute as SU beat Portland State, 1-0, on Sept. 1 at Championship Field. Madison Waguespack made three saves in net for her second shutout of the year.

Madison Waguespack was named WAC Defensive Player of the Week for the period ending on Sept. 1. The freshman went 2-0-1 in her first three collegiate starts, tallying shutouts at Washington and against Portland State.

• The last time the Redhawks visited Idaho, Leahi Manthei matched a Division I program record with four goals in a 5-3 win on Sept. 4, 2017. It marked SU’s biggest comeback as a D1 program, as it rallied from a 2-0 deficit in the first half.

• Idaho sports a 2-2 record in 2019. It lost to Mississippi State, 2-1, on Sunday afternoon.

• On Aug. 29, Jessie Ray scored in the 97th minute to lift SU to a 3-2 overtime victory over James Madison. Bailey Hall and Lauren Brown both scored, while Madison Waguespack made five saves in net for her first career win.

Jessie Ray’s OT goal marked the first score by a Redhawk in extra time since Brie Hooks scored to win at CSU Bakersfield on Oct. 9, 2016. It was SU’s first home overtime win since Aug. 23, 2015, when the Redhawks beat Oregon, 1-0.

• The Redhawks played a scoreless draw at Washington on Aug. 26, taking a point from UW for the first time in 15 all-time meetings. Freshman Madison Waguespack made three saves in her first career start, stopping a penalty kick early in the second half to keep the Huskies off the scoreboard.

• Portland State is 0-2 in 2019, having lost to Oregon State, 3-0, and at Oregon, 4-2.

• PSU was voted eighth in the Big Sky preseason poll after going 5-10-1 in 2018.

• SU kicked off the 2019 season with a 4-0 setback against No. 15 Washington State on Aug. 22. Mackenzie Curry and Madison Waguespack combined for six saves in net for the Redhawks.

• Seattle U was picked to win the WAC in the preseason coaches’ poll, marking the sixth time in the last seven seasons that the Redhawks were voted preseason favorites. Seniors Rachel Bowler and Jessie Ray were chosen All-WAC Preseason.

• Coach Julie Woodward enters her 23rd season at SU. She has won 294 games at SU.

• The Redhawks won the 2018 WAC Tournament Championship, advancing to their fourth NCAA Tournament since 2013. SU is the lone Division I program to play in each of its last six conference championship matches.

• SU features seven seniors, four juniors, 11 sophomores, and 16 freshmen on this year’s roster.

• Seattle U will serve as host for the 2019 WAC Tournament Nov. 6-10 at Championship Field. The last time SU hosted, in 2014, the Redhawks won to advance to the NCAA Tournament.

• Senior Jessie Ray has tallied 17 goals and 11 assists in her first three seasons at Seattle U, most among Redhawk returners in 2019.
