MOSCOW, Id. – Seattle University women’s soccer rolled to a 3-0 victory at Idaho Friday night. Jessie Ray scored two goals and Madison Waguespack made four saves for her third shutout of the year at the Kibbie Dome.

"I'm very happy with the way the team played tonight," said Coach Julie Woodward. "We started the game strong defensively, which created some great opportunities for us offensively. Gabe (Jillings), Rachel (Bowler), and Olivia (Ovenell) had phenomenal games tonight.

Following a strong opening push, Kelsey Crosby, making her first career start, found Ray ahead of the pack, where the senior deposited a goal for a 1-0 lead in the 12th minute.

Twenty minutes later, Ray found herself with room to operate and took advantage. She attacked, firing a shot from over 20 yards on the left side that got past the Vandal goalkeeper to make it 2-0 in the 33rd minute.

SU (3-1-1) earned a corner kick in the 41st minute and looked to expand its margin. Freshman Michele Adam sent in a ball to the box, where fellow rookie Rakel Leosdottir headed in her first career goal.

In the second half, both teams created chances, but the defenses stood firm and the scoreline did not change.

The Redhawks head to Gonzaga in search of their fourth straight win. The non-conference match is slated for a 1 p.m. kickoff on Sunday afternoon.
